I'm in a store! This post is a bit late coming, because I wanted to tell my email subscribers about it first (subscribe here) . I've shared these pictures on social media, but I haven't talked much about the circumstances. Ashes, Ashes is available in a store! In England, to boot.
I first heard about The Book Dragon earlier in the summer through a Facebook post my cousin sent me. It's a brand-new indie bookstore and just opened its doors at the beginning of July. The Facebook post was an open call for self-published authors to submit their books to be stocked on the new store's shelves. I emailed the owner immediately.
After a bit of back-and-forth and lots of questions, I shipped an entire case of Ashes, Ashes books to 6 West Row, Stockton-on-Tees, United Kingdom! They were on the shelf the next day, and the store manager graciously sent me these pictures! This opportunity came completely out of the blue, but I couldn't be more thankful for it (and for my cousin, who is the best unpaid publicist I've ever had).
I'll receive quarterly statements from the store about my sales, so I won't for a few more months if I've even sold any, but it's still something to be excited about and to be celebrated. Hopefully this store is only the first of many to have Ashes, Ashes gracing its shelves. I can't wait to see what the future looks like for me and The Book Dragon.
